The new Kushaq Onyx Edition from Skoda is now available for Rs 12.39 lakh, or Rs 80,000 more than the Active trim. The only engine option for the Onyx Edition is the 1.0-liter turbo-petrol unit, which is placed between the Active and the mid-spec Ambition Classic trims.
Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition exterior and interior design changes
The Onyx Edition’s exterior features the most changes, with stylized grey graphics on the doors and “Onyx” badges on the B-Pillar. In addition, the special edition features 16-inch steel wheels with newly designed plastic covers, a faux diffuser on the front bumper, and chrome surrounds on the front grille.
Onyx badging is added to the headrests and scuff plates, and the interior features a two-spoke steering wheel, chrome surrounds for the air conditioning vents and a textured pattern on the dashboard.
Additional features in Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition
Compared to the Kushaq’s base Ambition trim, the Onyx Edition has a few more features. This includes automatic climate control with an air purifier, LED headlights, fog lamps, a washer-equipped rear wiper, and a rear defogger. A 7-inch touchscreen, a 6-speaker audio system, and a driver’s seat that can be adjusted in height are all important features.
The Kushaq Onyx Edition features ISOFIX anchorages, dual front airbags, ESP, three-point seatbelts for each passenger, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) safety features. Under Global NCAP’s new crash test protocol, the Kushaq also received a full five-star rating.
Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition available powertrain
The Onyx Edition, as previously stated, is positioned between the entry-level Active and mid-spec Ambition Classic trims, both of which are only offered with the 115-horsepower, 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine. As a result, the Onyx only comes with a 1.0-liter engine and no automatic transmission at launch. However, sources inform us that an automatic transmission with a 6-speed torque converter will likely arrive later.
Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition rivals
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, and Volkswagen Taigun are among its rivals in the crowded midsize SUV market.
