The diesel and petrol variant of the Fortuner comes with different size engines and with the different transmission system. The Petrol variant of Toyota Fortuner 2020 has a 2.7 L DOHC, 16 valves, 4 cylinders in-line engine mated with a 5-speed manual and 6-speed Automatic transmission. This combination puts 166 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque under the foot of the driver.
On the other side, the diesel variant owners will get a 2.8 L DOHC, 16 valves, 4 cylinders in-line engine which is slightly more powerful than its petrol variant. The diesel engine produces 177 horsepower with 420 Nm of torque. You can have Toyota Fortuner with 2WD and 4WD but 4WD is available with diesel engine only.
