But certainly, there is a race among the manufacturers to own this crown. Producing the fastest car is a symbol of success. From time to time many carmakers have come with their fastest cars but they couldn’t hold the crown for long. So, here is the list of the top 10 fastest cars in 2020 in the world.

First, I have selected the cars which are currently in production and have proved their speed in the real world. In the end, I will talk about those cars which claim to be the fastest on Earth but have not proved it yet.

 

Lykan Hypersport – 245mph (394.2kmph)

 

You would have definitely seen the famous Burja khalifa stunt from the movie Fast and Furious 7. The supercar that Vin Diesel flew out of the building was the Lykan Hypersport. This car is known for its speed and premium interiors as well. Lykan Hypersport. Named after a mythological species of wolves ‘Lycan’, this supercar definitely looks like a beast.

Its 780 hp engine runs Lykan Hypersport at a top speed of 245mph and can accelerate 0-60mph in 2.9 sec.

 

McLaren Speedtail – 250mph (402.3kmph)

 

McLaren Speedtail, launched in February 2020, is another addition to the line of supers cars from McLaren. In its run, Speedtail broke the records of McLaren F1. McLaren Speedtail is a hybrid car. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged V8 engine and delivers 1036bhp. In the speed test, it attained a top speed of 250mph. Speedtail can reach 0-300kmph in 13 seconds.

 

 

SSC Ultimate Aero XT – 256.1mph (412.15kmph)

SSC or Shelby SuperCars are not related to the legendry race car drive Carroll Shelby. But SSC definitely keeping alive his legacy. well! SSC makes supercars and they have a spot in the top 10 fastest cars in the world 2020 list. In 2007 SSC Ultimate Aero TT charged with twin-turbo V8 engine managed a top speed of 256.1mph. It was the fastest car of that time and made a place in Guinness Book of World Records and the fifth spot in this list.

 

 

SSC updated this car with a more powerful engine and launched it in name of ‘SSC Ultimate Aero XT’. It is believed that it will easily reach a max speed of 273mph (theoretically). Whether it will reach that speed or not, the future will tell. Let’s see.

 

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport – 268mph (431.3kmph)

 

 

Bugatti remained the sole owner of the fastest cars’ crown for many decades. In 2005, Bugatti surprised the world with its another fast machine that had the capability to run above 400kmph (248mph).

Before its market launch in 2010, Bugatti Veyron broke many records of high speed and attained the highest speed of 431kmph (268mph). Bugatti Veyron Super Sport 16.4 became the fastest car on the Earth at that time.

 

 

This supercar uses W16 engine which delivers a massive 1200 horsepower and a maximum torque of 1500 Nm. It reaches 0-100kmph in just 2.5 seconds. Well! there is sad news, there is no new Veyron Super Sport 16.4 available. They are completely sold out.

 

Hennessy Venom GT – 270.49mph (435.3kmph)

Hennessey Performance Engineering is well known for its tuning works. In 2007, Hennessey Venom 1000, a tune-up version of Viper, defeated Bugatti Veyron 16.4 in attaining 0-200mph in a startling 20.3 seconds. Since then, Hennessey became a competitor in the race for fastest cars.

 

 

Hennessy Venom GT uses Lotus Exige as its foundation and this time again Hennessey managed to beat the Veyron Super Sport. Venom GT attained a top speed of 270.49mph in a track test at Florida’s Kennedy Space centre.

Venom GT uses a 7000cc V8 engine and delivers 1244 bhp.

 

Koenigsegg Agera RS – 277.9mph (447.23kmph)

 

 

In November 2017, Koenigsegg attempted a speed test on a 17.6 km closed section of public highway between Las Vegas and Pahrump. Niklas Lilja, the factory test driver of Koenigsegg, drove the Agera RS. Agera RS is the most powerful version of Agera. It became the fastest car in the world by achieving a top speed of 277.9mph. Agera RS also holds a world record for 0-249mph-0 beating Bugatti Chiron by 5 seconds.

Using a 5.0-litre V8 twin-turbo, it delivers 1341 hp and reaches 0-60mph in 2.6 seconds.

 

Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ – 304mph (489.2kmph)

Koenigsegg couldn’t hold the tag for fastest car manufacturer on Earth for too long. It lasted less than two years. To get the crown back, Bugatti modified their Chiron model. The standard Bugatti Chiron delivers a 1500hp and is already one of the fastest cars in the world.

Bugatti took a slightly more powerful engine from Centodieci and made some aerodynamic improvements to the car. The modified Chiron became the most powerful Bugatti supercar ever which delivered 1578 hp.

 

 

These improvements helped Bugatti Chiron to achieve a top speed of 304mph and became the first-ever car to break the 300mph barrier. Now the modified Chiron is gone into production under the name of “Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+“. Currently, Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ is the World’s fastest car in 2020.

Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ is the first car to break the barrier of 300mph and right now it is the world’s fastest car which has proven itself on the track. There are other manufacturers as well who claim to have made the fastest supercars. But, their speed is only theoretical till now. Henessey Venom F5 – 310.68mph (500kmph) (Claimed)

 

 

Earlier, Hennessey only did tuning works on supercars and presented some of the fastest cars to the world. Hennessey Venom F5 is an all-new supercar fully owned by Hennessey Special Vehicles, a division of Hennessey Performance vehicles. Powered by a 6.6 liter V8 twin-turbocharged engine, Venom F5 delivers 1817 hp. The CEO of the company, John Hennessey, has said that F5 is designed to run at 500+kmph (310.68mph) speed. If it succeeds, Bugatti Chiron will lose its world’s fastest car tag.

 

Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut 330+mph (531+kmph) (claimed)

 

 

Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is the high-speed version of Jesko. Jesko Absolut uses a 5.0 L twin-turbo aluminium V8 engine which delivers 1600 bhp with E85 and 1280 bhp with standard gasoline. The company has claimed that it can reach a top speed of 330+mph (531+kmph) which is huge. But still, it is only a claim and we have to wait for its test to check if it can really deliver on its promises.

 

Devel Sixteen 350+mph (563+kmph) (claimed)

 

 

Jet fighter inspired the Devel Sixteen design. This supercar first unveiled in 2013 at the Dubai International Motor show, has gone into production in 2017. Devel Sixteen draws its power from the 12.3 L 81 mm Quad-turbo V16 engine. The engine delivers a mammoth power of 5007 hp. This supercar weighs 2300kg and can attain a top speed of 350+mph.

 

World’s Fastest Car 2020

Well after reviewing the list of top 10 fastest cars 2020, it seems very clear that one car cannot hold this World’s fastest car tag for a very long time. Within a year or two, this crown keeps changing its King. Well, for now, Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ is the only car that has proved itself on the track. and it is the first car that achieved 300+mph speed. So, for now, World’s fastest car in 2020 is definitely ‘Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+’
