Renault India launched the new Kiger Compact SUV series on 15th February 2021 in India. After a long wait, Renault was finally able to enter the growing Compact SUV segment, with the Renault Kiger. It does see a lot of rivalry and competition from many major and premium brands and also from its equivalent company. 2021 Renault Kiger is its reply to Nissan’s compact SUV Magnite. Both the SUV are being offered at a very competitive price range.
2021 Renault Kiger looks and design
The Renault Kiger has an eye- catching design. Dual tone exterior is available across all variants and models. It is available in Caspian blue, Radiant Red, Moonlight silver, Planet grey, Ice cool white and Mahogany brown colors. It has chrome front grilles. For day and night light tri- octa pure vision LED headlamps with LED DRLs are used. The antenna above the car looks like a shark fin and the rear also gives a sporty look to the car. It has high ground clearance and functional roof bars with bonnet. With the dual tone paint, LED lighting and the fashionable alloys makes the car score high in the design segment.
Power and performance
The Renault Kiger gives a pair of petrol engines. One is 72 PS/ 96 NM 1.0 Litre Naturally Aspirated (NA) and the second one is 100PS/ 160 NM 1.0 Litre turbo petrol units. It also comes with a normal 5 speed manual gearbox. When the Automatic option comes into the mind, an AMT is included for the natural aspirated engine and a CVT is included for the turbo petrol motor.
It gives you the best performance and fuel efficiency with the multi sense drive modes. It also has a multi skin 17.78 cm reconfigurable TFT cluster. The petrol engine is 999 CC and it is also available in Manual and Automatic Transmission.

The Renault Kiger is a 5 seater car. To ensure safety of all the passengers of the car, latest and safe technologies are used. 2 front and 2 front side airbags are fitted for the driver and the front passenger. Front parking sensor is also installed to detect the contact of the car with the front vehicle. 20.32 cm floating touchscreen display with wireless smartphone replication is also there for infotainment purpose. An air purifier is also installed for the purification of air inside the car. Most of the cars have a feature of wired charging but the new Renault Kiger provides a wireless charger.
The car has high cabin storage volume which makes it very comfortable when you want to go on a long drive with your family or friends. It has a total cabin storage volume of 29 L. It gives a good 222 mm space for the rear knee room. The rear armrest with cup holders are also amazingly designed. It has a cargo space of 405 L that can accommodate a lot of stuff. PM 2.5 clean air filters are used in all the air conditioning vents.

The 2021 Renault Kiger gave a lot of variety or options to its customer to choose from. The Renault Kiger offers 4 broad trims- RXE, RXL, RXT and RXZ and 2 engine options. Its base version is priced at Rs. 5.45 lakh to its top version RXZ X- Tronic CVT variant that retails at Rs. 9.55 lakh.
The 2021 Renault Kiger is a very appealing, organized, well-sorted SUV, with amazing features and specifications. It is affordable and the maintenance would not be expensive too. The super broad cabin space makes pretty much a perfect family car. But all the good features are only reserved for the top RXZ model. The design stands out the most and makes the car look beautiful.
