2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift got facelifted – TAB Report

Maruti Suzuki Swift, the most sold compact hatchback, has got a new face now. Swift received its first facelift in 2015. It was after a long period of 12 years. But this time Suzuki sensed the need for updating its hatchback pretty soon. The most loved hatchback of India has won many awards till now. Keeping its pace with its own popularity, Suzuki has brought some significant improvements in its appearance and features as well. Let’s find what is new this time in 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift.

The Appearance – How does Maruti Suzuki Swift look now?

Swift now encompasses an all-new sporty cross mesh grille with a bold chrome-accented horizontal bar in the middle. This combination gives it a totally new look at the front. Apart from the grille, the hatchback now has turn indicators on the side mirrors as well.

Swift always maintained an image of a sports car because of its quick and easy flow through the traffic and excellent suspension system. To make this sporty image more appealing to the masses, Swift now has dual-tone exterior colors. This makes its roof looks floating.

The Hatchback also features new LED headlamps and tail lamps along with DRLS. The 15-inch alloy wheels have two-tone and precision cut. Overall the 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift looks refreshingly new and updated.

On the inside, Not much different elements you would find. Swift still uses the Semi digital instrument cluster while its competitors are already using DIC. But Suzuki has introduced some additional info on the Instrument cluster. The IC has two analog meters displaying engine speed and the vehicle speed along with a digital display in the middle. It now displays outside temperature and gear number as well along with average fuel economy. The steering wheel is fully loaded with controls for entertainment and automatic cruising.

2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift Safety and Features

The only thing Swift lags in is – safety. Earlier versions of Swift received only 2-stars in Global NCAP safety tests. This Suzuki has made some improvements to compete with other cars of this segment. New 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift now comes with ESP with Hill Hold Assist, Dual Airbags, and ABS With EBD. It is now built on Heartect Platform which Suzuki claims to be safer. But the safety standards of this version of Swift will only be proved after the NCAP safety test.

Other features included in this iteration of Swift are

  • Engine push start-stop Button with the smart key
  • Automatic Climate control

  • Engine Immobilizer
  • Day-Night Adjustable IRVM

On the entertainment side, the hatchback comes fitted with a 17.78cm touch screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It has 4 -door speakers and 2 tweeters to provide entertainment on the go.

Maruti Suzuki has now added an automatic transmission variant to the Swift which was earlier not available. The car is available in 5-speed Manual and Automatic Transmission. The 1.2L (1197cc) engine is Suzuki’s latest K-series Dual Jet, Dual VVT Engine. It produces 66kW of power and 113 Nm torque, Suzuki claims a 23.2Km/l and 23.76 Km/l of Fuel efficiency.

The New 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift comes in 6 single and 3 dual-tone colors. The ex-showroom price for the new 2021 Suzuki Swift starts from INR 5.73 Lakh and goes up to INR 7.77 Lakh for the top variant with Manual transmission and INR 8.27 Lakh for the top variant with AMT.
