It is paired with a 3.0 litre, in line 6 cylinder engine. The petrol engine generates 360 hp. Two modes of tune are offered in diesel engine option. One state of tune is 249 hp and other state of tune is 300 hp. 

The Land Rover New Discovery features a mild-hybrid technology engine. This technology helps in improving the fuel efficiency of this beast. The SUV is capable of towing 3500 kg. Also, a towing package is offered that includes: Advanced Tow Assist. It features an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
